In 1999, Arlys was invited to take a painting class by a friend.  They painted on fabric and made a cute apron, however, she brought home something more than a nice craft that she would never use.  She came home with a new love....painting.

She began taking weekly lessons with one of the teachers.  She also started taking lessons from ‘traveling artists’ as offered to members of the Pikes Peak Chapter of Decorative Painters.   With each new lesson, her passion for painting grew, as did her ability.  She has painted with acrylics and oils with her latest adventure being the world of watercolor.   Her love of painting has only grown.

Trying Something New

One day I said “Yes, I’ll try,” and it opened up a world of pleasure and joy that I had never realized before.  I could actually paint something beautiful.  We fear failure so we don’t try, yet the only real failure is when we succumb to fear and will not try.  Join me for a  watercolor class and say “Yes, I’ll try!”
